Tire Pressure Sensor OFF!?

I recently added rims to my 4runner and the toyota tire pressure sensors wouldnt fit on the rims. Now, I have this very annoying little yellow light constantly on my dash. I tried turning down the dash lights to make it less annoying however, it stays at the same brightness. Is there a way to turn off the sensors?

do u have ur old rims & tires? alot of us leave just leave the old set in the garage or near where we park at night. it resets them. the light goes on after about 1-2 hrs of driving or 100 miles, so it will reset it overnight so u start the next day without a light. some others have put them in pipe or wheel barrow wheel. u could go into the dash & pull the light or put tape over it.

You can disable the system as a whole to disable that light (it is not permanent). You have to ground a wire coming from the TPMS ECU to the body.

I grounded the wire on mine when one of the TPMS sender units corroded and needed replacement. It took me 5 minutes with a screwdriver and a pair of needle nose pliers.

The easiest way is to follow the above link for the bypass switch to locate the wires you need to work with. Cut the pink/black wire and ground the end that is coming from up in the car. Takes 5 minutes. You really need to go through the trouble of wiring the switch if you have multiple sets of rims.

I actually do leave my old rims right next to the truck and it hasn't been working so far haha. Thats strange that it still works. and I'm on the verge of tape over the light or going into the dash and take out the light if the other methods don't work . Thanks for the help
