Tire pressure warning work on spare?

I am switching to 285-70-17 and was wondering if the spare has a sensor for the spare tire. I tend to think it does becasue my light came on once and the spare was the only one that was low on air. If I go with the bigger tire and don't have a tire under the vehicle will the warning system still work?

Warning system will work. I don't think you will get a warning for a missing tire. All the system does it look for a low pressure signal from any tire.

After driving about 100 miles without the spare, the TPMS light will start blinking. I haven't experienced this but gleamed it from postings on the forum.
