Tire Pressure...what are you running?

Just curious to know what tire pressure everyone is running at? I remember my dealer recommending 32 psi. What are the pros/cons of running at higher pressure...say 35 or 40 psi?

It depends on what tires you have and what they are rated to. If the maximum pressure on the sidewall states 32 psi then at 40 psi you may find that the centre section of the tread will wear faster than the outside edges? But if it

I have an 05 Runner and still have the stock tires on them (Bridgestone Dueler).

99 % of all tires out there require 32 psi. Special purpose, high performance, or mudders may be different. Just read the sidewall of your tire. It will always tell you what you should put in there.

Remember that those are usually cold psi. When you drive around, the tires heat up and the pressure goes up too so putting in 51 psi cold will give you more when its up to operating temps.

That said, I have mine set to 38 psi cold on Revos. You should be fine with 32-38 psi.

That's interesting Bobby. I have 32psi in my Revos, but I'm thinking to put some more. So you have 38. Ho is it rides? I was thinking of rising 5psi.

im runnin 30lbs up front and 28lbs in the rear of my 285/75/16 MT's, have 30k on them now and they are wearing good real comfy ride, stock wheels, i think it says something about 60lbs on the sidewall, but wow that is way too much for me

The ride is firm but not bone-jarring. You get better gas mileage to some degree with less rolling resistance with higher pressures.

You also have to realize that the tires won't grip as well at higher pressures. Best thing to do is to play with them until you're happy. I would suggest going to 35psi first and take it from there. Going from 32 to 38 is a huge jump.
