Tire Pressure Your Running on Standard 16" Tires?

i understand they can take more pressure, but that doesn't change the physics of the situation, does it?

I have two trailers with same tires, they can take 50 PSI, but on my BBQ smoker (1400#) I run a lower pressure than the trailer I load a 3000# tractor into. If I am running the big trailer at 45 PSI, with no load, it is obvious only the middle of the tire is touching the ground.

LT tires take more pressure to support the same amount of weight as a P rated tire is what I was getting at.

We run LT265/75r16 E LTX A/T2s on the 99 at 40 to 45 psi depending on what sort of on-road travel and same for LT285r75r16 E when I had them on the 96.

The 99 was stock until recently and the 96 is....heavier....

32 is what the tire shop put them at originally on the 96. They felt squirrelly to me at that pressure so I changed it. The higher pressure feels a lot better with that particular tire. A little more harsh I can live with for a tad less squirmy feeling.

Didn't and don't have center wear issues on any of them, one set lasted about 60,000 miles and we're looking at getting new tires for the 99 some time next year-ish.

What about the tire pressure stamped on the sides of the tire? Does the door panel info supercede that? I'm confused will it not wear the tire more rapidly if not inflated to the mfg specs? Could I run less pressure for a smoother ride?

The tire marked pressure is max safe psi. Should only be ran that high when super loaded down and still to much. You will get center tire wear.

Door is recommended by car manufacturer for best tire wear and ride.

You can run little lower for softer ride. But not as good as gas mileage.
