HI! The 4runner is not my car. It's the gf's. She needs new tires and seeing you guys are the gurus, I figure you would know. She needs new tires. Was told she need to replace her tires. I did some research on tirerack and 1010tires and came to the conclusion narrowed my choices down to AT Revos, HL Alenza or the Destination LE. She's got a 97 4runner Limited. Her tires she has on there now are 265/70/16. Anyone have any suggestions for tires? cheaply? and where? She doesn't off road. She just need tires for everyday highway use. That's why I was leaning towards the Destination LE but I like the tread pattern of the Revos and the rave reviews I've been reading about them. Thanks for your help.

I've only got 200 miles on them but they are great on the highway. Another tire to consider is the Michelin Cross Terrain SUV -- also got good ratings.hwlcd69 said:
You don't specify where the truck is, so it's hard to gauge the weather. I have to deal with lots of rain, some snow, and ice. The Revos seemed to have better ratings for the varied conditions. Our member Carina71 has the Michelins in Alaska and says they are great in the snow (check out his posts).
In any case, I don't think this will be cheap for her....the Revos are goig for about $150 each if you can find them, the Michelins in the $160-180 range. (Sears carries the Michelins so they are often on sale.)
Don't go cheap on tires, bad idea. Get the Michelin Cross Terrains, they will be good for 60K+ miles and they balance right and stay balanced along with the quality of the tire you want your GF to be safe. If they cost even $200 more over the life of the tires you are talkin pennies a day for piece of mind.
don't get me wrong I don't mean cheap, I mean a good price for some good tires. anyways.. I just got back from Costco after reading a thread on this forum and asked how much the Revos were. The sales rep told me about $140 per tire and starting tomorrow, it'll be $80 off four tires. so about $120. I think he said $128 to be exact, but don't quote me. I don't have a Costco card so that'll be $45 more for me, but it seems like a great price for some great tires. any comments? Oh and I live in the Northeast. Massachusetts to be exact.
