any thoughts on these tires?? Falken Wildpeak A/T - P265/70R17 or the General Grabber AT2 265/70/ AT ..... I am on a tight budget so I want the best bang for my buck.

NO on the Wildpeaks, i had Rocky Mountain ATS, same thing. They are half siped, so you will get slick tread before the others. Between the two I would say General 100%. Wildpeaks ride good, but as stated, they sipes are half way.

LoL at the mention, btw i had to google "sipes", so thats why my first set of falkens started to suck butt after a while. i second the no to the falkens. also regular non LT nitto terra grapplers could be had around $130 each in that size, the coopers are actually more than the nittos.

It's not on your list but BFG ATs are a great tire, if you are wanting an all terrain. They may be a bit more expensive than your choices but they will outlast any of them making them a better buy. I've had a set on my 3rd gen and they have lasted a long time. I'm not even sure how many miles are on them. They still have great tread too.

They are the WORST tires on the PLANET!! They dry rot, are terrible in mud and snow! Cooper Cooper Cooper Cooper!!

You my friend know nothing about tires. While Michelin owns BFG, the BFG all terrains are still made in the same BFG factory as they were before Michelin bought them. 100% of Michelins are segment molds, and BFGs are clam shell molds. They are not the same.

the joke is, or sarcasm....they take a long time to wear out, at least the BFG's do and will dry rot before they wear out.
FYI, i just had a customer here with a 07 JK jeep. she has her ko's on for the last 40k and its only less than 1/2 worn out.

You'll get a different opinion from everyone. Out of the two tires in the original question, I'd go with the generals. While I am a fan of the BFGs, Hankook ATm is a good tire that is fairly cheap too

General AT2.. I just purchased a set and they are awesome in the snow/ice.. although Of course I just purchased them so the performance is till due to the tire being 90-100 percent new..

This is true. I'm not sure how much tread mine has left, haven't measured, but it is plenty. Mine have been on for at least 7 years. Who knows how many miles.
I've been wheeling with a guy that has Cooper STTs same size 265s. My 4Runner went everywhere his did, and in lots of mud.

I worked in a tire shop for years and bfg aka Michelin were the number one to dry rot from under you. (I am in the dry heat of Tucson az, so that does make a huge difference) it didn't matter if the vehicle wad garaged or not... those are two brands of tires I personally would never buy.

This is an opinion I can respect. Someone with retail, wholesale or industry knowledge.seat of the pants and experience by purchase is taken with a grain of salt. I see tons of tires too. Most of the complaints on dry rot were after 5 plus years or 30,000+ miles on the vehicle though.
I guess I have to keep my tires lubed up do they don't dry out, lol.

Another option to look at is the Nitto Terra Grappler. Everyone has opinions on tires. Some are brand whore complex opinions. Some are real life. Unfortunately it is hard to decipher.
I am doing more HWY driving and commuting in my 4Runner now. So I am installing a set of the Nitto TG's next weekend. I used a set several years back in CO snow and in Moab sand & rock with good results. They were blah in mud, but they are an AT tire.
