tire recommendation needed for 2007 SR5

Discount Tire in my area says I need four new tires. The size on now are 265 65 17. Their recommendation is Cooper Discoverer HTP in the same size. I was not sure if there was an alternate size that others have found to work better or look better. I did have another locally owned independent shop recommend a little taller tire at 265 70 17. I appreciate any suggestions based on experience or knowledge.

Personally I'd use 265/70-17 from now on. It's a much easier to find size if you need a tire in a pinch, and they are less expensive also. Plus, more options. You can get a set of tires in that size for under $450 delivered to your door right now from discounttiredirect.com. I always order from them.

Thank you! I will consider this option. The independently owned local shop recommended Cooper Sigma HT or the taller size 265/70-17 he said Korean made Nexum Roadian HT. Both are 60k mile tires. He can put them on for $630. Discount Tire with replacement certificates was $650 or so. Not that much of a difference. I dislike having to buy tires.

265 70 17 is what I run now. I'm getting a lift installed Saturday and will change up a size. I have Bridgestone dueler AT's on it now ( I bought the t4r with them already installed) they are the worst tire with absolutely horrible wear patterns. They aren't good getting traction either.

I agree the 265/70 AT tire is a little taller tire and I actually noticed quite the difference compared to the original Dueller HT tires. I ended up with some BF Goodrich and couldn't be happier. Good luck and dont forget to take pictures.

I will ask Discount Tire about matching that price. They are having a sale this weekend, but I will not be in town. I am sure they will have sales again. I am also sure they will be having more sales in the future. I appreciate the help.

Hankook DynaPro ATM RF10 are great looking tires. Nice agressive look. Not sure how well they compare to the Cooper Discoverer HTP. Anyone have experience with these?

I do not have a 4WD, but I do like how these look. Not much more than the Cooper Discoverer HTP.

I don't think you can beat Michelin LTX M/S2 tires on the street (well except in price). Traction, milage, etc are outstanding. I got a set of 4 at Costco for a good price and they have a $70 gift card rebate. Used them on my last pickup truck and it was a like a new vehicle when I put them on.

If you dislike buying tires, these or the Toyo HTs. For mostly on road driving they can't be beat and you're likely to get 90-100k miles out of a set.
