Tire recommendations on a budget for Denver year round?

Hankook ATM RF10, looks like the price has gone up a little since I bought mine. Another option is to look at craigslist and find some used tires.

I used to run BFG ATs. They did pretty well in the snow.
Last year i switched to Yokohama AT/S. They are awesome. They ride better on dry roads, smoother at highway speeds, pulled great on snow runs thru deep snow, plenty of traction on dry trails. Great traction on Slickrock, secure feeling on rainy and snowy roads. They are also $30-$50 per tire less expensive.
I'm a big believer in having tires siped. I sipe all of my tires, including these. Siping adds extra grip on snow and ice.

Nitto Terra Grappler in P-sizing. Hangs with anything mentioned so far but should cost much less.

I don't have any history with the NTGs. P series are Passenger car tires. The 4runners came with P series on them. They will cost less and ride better than an LT (light truck) tire. The LT will have ~twice the tread depth, weigh more, lower MPG and ride a little harsher. If you wheel then you want an LT, much stronger tire.

For ATs, about 15 to 25 percent more.
As well as reduce the statistical safety margins of load and speed that the vehicle engineers specified for the stock passenger tire.
Often true, but am not sure how it pertains to this thread.
Yes, in the sense of resistance to cuts and impacts. For maintaining structural integrity from long term use at highway speeds and especially in hot conditions, Ps are more durable.

I paid about $130 each for my Bridgestone Dueler AT 695s. Can't comment on the snow traction yet, since I just got them this year, but I'd be shocked if they didn't perform well. Highway noise and comfort are outstanding.

I don't know about Goodyear and BFG on a budget.
My old Tahoe I put some Sumitomo All Terrains on it, saved over $150 vs going BFG.

Another vote for the Yokohama AT-S...
Had them on my Taco and they worked great, even off road.
May or may not switch to Geolanders when my BFGs wear out.
Discount tire has good prices. Just don't ever accept their first offer. They'll always come down.

Costco with their $70 off a set of four Bridgestone coupon. There is one in effect right now, but the tire does not show up as an option for our truck when you plug it in. I'm sure they can order it for anyone. The Revo 2 didn't show up either, but the guy said he could get it within a couple of days.
I definitely recommend these tires for the mostly pavement and occasional off-roader. I spent a week messing around in the sand dunes of Nantucket and these things blasted through everything aired down to 12psi.
