Tire size on 89?

Hi, I just bought a 1989 with 225/75/15 tires on it, and the forst thing I want to do is buy new rims and tires. Would I be able to run 31x10.50/15 on it with no lift?
Also, what backspacing should I get on the rims, i really dont want the tires to stick out past the fenders.

YEAH man you can run 31x10.50x15 easy cause that is what i run on 86

31 x 10.50 x 15 is the large tire option from the factory. If you are using stock rims, should be no problem. Be sure to get 5 tires.,, you 'll need a spare the same size, too.

31's can be run no problem, they wont rub when you turn. The will look big, but not too big. You can run 33's, but they will rub when make sharp turns. I've run 31's on many toyota trucks, and had no problems with rubbing.
