tire size ?

i currently have 265 70 16, but when ever i call a tire shop or look some up online i also get the 225 75 15, what is the difference? what size is the spare on the 1999 2wd 4runner limited?
the 225 are alot cheaper, im trying to decide which way to go we rarely to never go offroad.

if you have 265/70/16 right now the 225's wont fit because they are ment for 15" wheels. So unless your planning on getting 15" rims they wont work. And they are cheaper cause they are a bit smaller.
