I have a 1999 4-runner 4x4 limited. What are the biggest tires I can put on without lifitng the truck or having rubbing issues?

265/75/16 work?

The 70 or 75 number is the aspect ratio. So if you switch from 265 70's to 265 75's then you would see the following difference:

Take 265 and divide by 25.4mm/inch and then multiply by .70 and that is the size in inches of your current sidewall.

For the new size just take 265 and divide by 25.4mm/inch and multipy by .75 for the new sidewall size.

Remember that is just one of the sidewalls so you will have to double it to get the overall tire size difference. FYI on tires the first number is the tread width in mm, the second number is the aspect ratio of the first number (a percentage) and the third is your rim size.

and no worries on rubbing? also, assume these can fit on a 16x7 rim with no prob?

Before I had my lift springs they would rub very slightly when turning on the inner front fender flare. I literally spent 2 minutes on both sides with the dremel and all was good. Yes, they fit the stock rims just fine.

my toyota dealer is doing what they can to get me the TRD black rims that were discontinued which is why im asking. would need to put fresh rubber on those bad boys, and if 265/75/16s work then im all over them. im not too hopeful though...

a 265/70 is a 31" equiv and a 265/75 is a 32" equiv and then the 285/75 is 33" equiv. in case you dont want to do all the math.

What's your location? I'm looking to sell some brand new 265/75/16 BFG AT's I have on my Limited. They have less than 2K miles on them. LMK, Jeff

we're too far apart, plus i would not be doing the bfg's. thank you for the offer though. why are you dumping the bfg's and what are you going too?
also, thanks for the link and all the other comments...can always learn something on this forum.
