I am a huge believer in these forums. With extensive involvement in Jet Ski, MC, and Snow Ski forums.
As a new member here, I am in the process of reading the reams of info already posted.
However, I wanted to give my question "cooking time" to get the input from as many members as possible.
I have a 2000 4R 4wd, 102,000 miles. 16 inch rims. I live in the Boston area. Weather is pretty good here. What snow we get is off the roads pretty quick. But, I do need to go out in it. I travel a lot of 30 mile jumps, combo of highway and secondary. Time to and from can be an issue. So I do travel 65-70 a lot.
I make a few 2.5 hour trips up to ski country in NH during the winter. But, again roads are treated pretty well.
During the summer, I tow a single jet ski trailer, and an at the towing limit enclosed cargo trailer for my MC. Jet ski is used on ocean and fresh water ramps.
I am not off-roading at all. Very slight dirt road. Three years with the vehicle and I've only used 4wheel high. Never been in 4 wheel low, or engaged the etc.
I gotta say that I have the same age Gran Marquis with the Goodyear Triple Tread Assurance tires on it, and love those tires.
