Tire suggestions

I've got a 1998 SR5 V6 Auto currently with Yokohama Geolander AT/S in 265/65/17 that are in need of replacement. It's my daily driver, I live in Vermont so the truck sees snow, dirt roads, pavement, highway... you know... all of it... I don't drive it off road at all. So... The Nitto Terra Grappler AT is on the list of tires that I'm considering. Anyone have any experience with this tire (especially in snow)? Or any other tires that you might recommend? Looking for a good "all a rounder" that doesn't look like a street tire.

Just put on a set of Cooper Discoverer AT/3's (265/70/R17) in August, have been happy with them so far. Good ride and road manners, not noticeably louder than the all-season Hankook's I had on before.

Haven't had them in the snow yet, but they're supposedly pretty good in it (which is why I went with them.) Guess I'll find out next month in BC.

I have had the cooper's at3 since March....snow has been great...went to OBX and awesome on beach....wearing very well so far. ....I'd buy again

Oxfed, do you have a lift in your truck or is it stock height? I considered jumping up to the 70 instead of the 65 which brings it just up over a 31 (looks like it'll fit without issue). I'm running 17" alloys off of a Sequoia so they're nothing to terribly wide

That Cooper tire is quite a bit less expensive than the Nitto. Best price I could find was on Discount tire direct... and the Cooper looks to be a good value there too.

I was stock when I had them put on, and they rubbed a bit when turning. I can't say I liked that, but I was planning a 2" lift at the time, and there's no contact at all now that it's lifted. I would have stayed a size down if I was staying with stock, the rubbing bugged me.

Got mine from Discount Tire too. Great service, was very pleased with them. If you have a local store, it's worth stopping in to see if they'll match their online prices (they did in my case.)

Perfect! I have no problems with rubbing at full lock now and have no plans to lift this thing so I'll stick with the 65... My main concern is snow, and this tire gets great reviews in that department! Thanks very much, this tire wasn't on my radar at all!

I've been running Cooper Discoverer ATP in a 265/75R16 load E for a while and have been very happy with them.

I'm also running the Cooper ATP. I'm running the 265/75/16 in a passenger tire. I just put them on at the end of Oct. I reviewed tires extensively. I wanted a good AT that was light. Best deal I could find was $129 per tire plus installation and a $60 rebate . The runner up was the destination LE. I go off road occasionally. I would have gone with the general ATs if I had a bunch of armor and went off roading more frequently. So far I am very happy with the ATPs

I also vote cooper at/3. I got them in lt265/70-16, love them. I shopped around and the cheapest place delivered was with discount tire direct. I think they're doing another promotion right now too. The runners up were ntb, and sears iirc, so you might check them too

I have the Yokohama Geolander AT-S on my land cruiser, and I would get them again. Excellent tires.

Toyo Open Country AT II are good tires, I will get those if I want something with a more aggressive sidewall.
