Tire wear right front

I've noticed extreme tire wear on the outside tread of the right front tire at only 14K miles. Is this common, or do I have an alignment problem? They are Bridgestone Duelers on 17" rims. The outer tread rib is almost bald. 2003 V8 SR5 4WD. The dealer had an off site garage re-align the vehicle when it was new because the steering wheel was cocked when going straight.

My front right on the inside was wearing, had an alignment done and now it is wearing fine, had it done at 8k so at 14k now you can't tell.

Why would the dealer have an outside garage do the alignment:confused: if I take my 4Runner to the dealer for an alignment and I see them taking it to the place down the street I would be slightly concerned as to why they are not capable of doing the work especially when they should have the equipment.

Edge,

They don't have a rack. It's a great dealership with good service, but the building is small...maybe no room. Toyota is all they sell from that location.

I hope it's an alignment issue 'cause 14-15K certainly is not enough wear for me. The other 3 tires are fine. But I've had numerous tire places mess up alignments on other vehicles, so I suspect these people messed up too. I never hit any major holes or anything.

I would have to agree, that the wear you are seeing is not normal. Unless you are taking a lot of left hand turns very hard, you probably have an alignment problem. Especially with the mention that they did an alignment because of a problem early on. I would make them do another alignment, and do a five tire rotation ASAP.
