Tires.... Can't Decide

I have a 2005 4runner sport.
Original dunlops running into 3rd season. Need new tires.
I have narrowed down the choices..

Bridgestone Dueler Revo A/T
Firestone Destination A/T
Perelli Scorpian ATR
Goodyear Wrangler A/T

All of them are all terrain tires and basic purpose is highway driving for all year. I go boardin' in the winter and camping in the summer. Need good traction for all kinds of weather.

I've read reviews just wondering what you guys think.

I'm getting Revo's put on right now (P265/70/17); I'll be using them mostly for regular road driving and a little off-roading but nothing serious enough to pay for LT tires.

Seems that a lot of people on here love the Revo's; but you might also look at Nitto Terra Grapplers since they are another favorite. Might save a little cash also.

You have a great list compiled provided the Goodyear is the Wrangler Silent Armour model. I don't think you can go wrong.

I and many others have used Revos and had great experiences with them. Some have Pirelli's and love them. There's less members with the Firestone but I don't recall anything but good news on that one either...

AT Tires

With the exception of the Silent Armours, I have the same models on my short list along with the Michelin LTX A/T 2. Actually, I am leaning towards the Michelin and Pirelli models at this point but will wait until next year when my Cross Terrains will have enough wear for me to justify getting rid of them. This will be my last winter on these tires.

Let us know what you decide.

i was reading on tirerack.. that the perelli's are soft and wear faster than other A/T tires. That kind of threw me off even though i have perelli's on my 2 wheel hah...so i thought perelli's= good tires hah. I ordered the Revo's since most of the users on here have used them and since its mostly highway driving and seasonal..for mud and snow.. i guess the Revos are the best choice. You guys are right about the silent armour tires.

Next mod is probably rims..something black matted.

Great choice! :bigok: A few, myself included, run the 44psi max Revos at 38-40psi rather than 32psi with great results.

hah sweet, you answered the question that i was gonna ask later.. since the stock dunlops run at 32 psi i was wondering what i woudl run the new shoes at.
 
yes my coworker reccomended cooper tires as well, but i think i'll give the revos a shot since so many ppl reccomend them. If i don't liek them i can switch.
 
All good choices... I have the Pirellis, which seem to be slighlty better suited to road than off-road (but do well on both). No complaints after 5K miles.

All the others you mentioned have slightly more agressive tread (very slight in the case of Revos). I considered the Revos but opted for the Pirellis because I thought they would be better overall road tires with sufficient off-road capabilities for my limited excursions into the wilderness.
 
Michelin LTX A/T 2

Just ordered 4 Michelin LTX A/Ts from Costco for my 06 Sport. Had Revos before but the rating put the Michelin ahead in snow and ice so going to try them.
