Continental CrossContact LX20 vs. Michelin LTX MS/2

Anyone here had any experience with these tires or have thoughts/recommendations? My tires are at 4/32 and I'm going to replace them with one of these. I've read that the Michelin LTX's are more durable, but that the Continental LX20s might perform slightly better in the rain. I'm most concerned with driving on wet/snowy freeways. Thanks.

currently im running the ltx m/s it has snowed 2 times this year and i have been out in both, 5 inches and 2 inches (yesterday) i dont even notice that it has snowed while im driving. im pretty heavy on my right foot from stopping and going (accounts for my bad MPG) but i love these tires. i was in desperate need of some new ones so i got mine form tire rack.com. (about $250 a tire).

i have always rocked my the big fat marshmallow man on all my rides. ive had lxt A/T and they lasted like 70K miles. <---- this guy knows how to make a tire.

the ride is great, pretty quiet tire down the highway and great on traction in the snow. this sprint we got some nasty rain storms (down pours) and i could not get my truck to hydro plain, the tread was so deep and it just stuck to the road! GREAT TIRE!

The LTX is a great daily driver tire and wears like granite. 60k + miles is not unheard of. I don't know anything about the continentals, but their car tires are pretty damn good.

I had the michelins on my old s10. They were one of the longest lasting tire I have ever owned still had tons of tread after 3 years of owning them when I sold the truck.

Thanks for all the comments and pics. I'm coming out of a set of Michelin xradials and can confirm that Michelin makes some amazing tires. These lasted about 55k in Ohio, where tires usually dont last to their full warranty. I'm very tempted to get the Michelin LTX MS2's actually, but was seduced by the supposed superior wet performance of the Continental LX20s. I'm also a bit tired of Michelins anyway after having them for the past five years, so maybe I'll try Continental.

I'll add that when I first switched to the Michelin xradials, the ride quality improvement was absolutely incredible over the stock Bridgestone Duelers.

I had the Michelin on my runner when I bought it. They were low on tread but rode pretty well. Didn't seem to wear any in the 6 months I had them on there, and even had a screw sticking through the sidewall for like 4 of them. There a good tire. Worked well in the dirt. But they're a highway tire so don't expect anything more of them.

Get the Michelins. I currently have the LTX MS2 on my 4runner and they are great. They handle excellent in the rain and very good in the snow. I can't speak about the CrossContact but I can't imagine a better tire than the Michelins. This is my third set of LTX. Both previous sets lasted over 80,000 miles.

I was down to 2/32", so decided to go with the Continental LX20s. I'll let ya'll know how they are...they were just installed yesterday.

My previous tire was the Continental LX. It was a great tire & lasted 60K mi. I'm hoping the LX20s last about the same. I can't speak to the snow traction of the LX since we lived in CA, but the wet traction was pretty well. I was also impressed by the quietness of the tire.
