Tires for 04 LTD

I've been trying to get some 265/65-17s to replace my tires and I'm running into trouble finding anyone who does not need to order them.

Discount Tires is trying to sell my wife 275/70-17s, Goodyear Eagles, but I don't think these things are built for off-road and the change in size will make my spare useless.

Anyone know anything about these tires and issues with changing size? I'm trying to spend less than more and welcome any tire tips for the 04 4R-LTD

Revo's come highly recommended for good offroad and great onroad what's your budget per tire as that'll make a big difference.

Also if you're gonna replace tires, look into replacing all 5 tires. if you want, you can even go up to 265/70/17's to give that beefier look!

Discount tire is great as I recommend them all the time. Free balance and rotation is a plus if you offroad a lot. They provide a great warranty certificate where if you tear the tire up on the trail (not due to normal abuse but from tears on the sidewall from a rock) they'll replace it no questions asked

On a budget and I go thru a set of tires every year. Bought this 4R on halloween 2003 and with 25k the tires are gone.

A buddy with a gen 3 runner just got the revos and he likes them. I decided to go ahead and give these oversized goodyear eagle passenger tires a run for the money from discount even though my original spare will have to do in case of a flat, (counting on their disco's warrantee.)

These tires get a goot rating in snow and since I try to ski every weekend that's a big plus. If it's a mistake it's only for a year...

The pimpleheads at Discount Tire busted off the tire pressure sensor on one of my wheels. They said the reason was "it was cold" arghhhh!!! They ordered the part and said they'd put it in as they handed the busted one to my wife.

Needless to say I'll be calling the manager and telling them noone but a certified toyota mechanic will be performing this repair which Disco will be paying for.

Is it just Colorado and the thin air that makes good service so hard to find or is this a national epidemic!?

tirerack.com has really helpful reviews.

Just read a lot of them to get a good picture of the tire performance and not just a complaint here or there.

Goodyears have some of the most consisitently bad and medicore ratings in tirerack. Revos are at the other extreme racking some of the most positive reports. Toyos are good and while not sold by Tirerack, is carred by Les Schwab as their Toyo Open Country A/T. They even carry LT 265/70/17 as D and E load range. Their other tires are made by off brands and weird no name makers from Botswana so I stay with Toyo.....

Nitto Terra Grappler AT is available from America's Tire/Disccount Tire. They look decent though I have no personal experience with them excetp for some high performacne tiers years ago.
