Will some of you with 18" wheels post some pictures of your tire choices and tell me a little about them. My tires are cracking and i am going to have them replaced soon. Right now i have the Michelin Cross terrains (dont remember the size).

Also about how much diameter and width can the stock 4runner handle? To get more specific i have a 2007 with the enkie 18" wheels. Do any of you know the backspacing or any other details on them?

Thanks,

Major

To find the width and offset, look at the inside of one of the spokes, It should read 18x8 0 J or something similar. Post a pic or a description and we can determine the width and offset.

In general a narrow 32" tire is max for a stock 4th gen. That means 265/65/18.

I have 275/65/18 Toyo AT's on 18x9 pro comps. It is a true 32" and wider than stock. See my sig for pics.

I definitely agree. I drive a 2008 Urban Runner (basically a Sport Edition). I took it by trailblazers and they said I have 18 inchers on mine. I said well I'm looking for a cross-over that I can drive on the road, but will also get good traction for off-roading. They said that my 4Runner, basically stock doesn't have much room to grow, unless with a lift, so they suggested getting the same sized Toyo Open Country A/T like suggested above. My really interested into what others have to say, but I'm really leaning to buy these soon.

Ill try to get a picture of the wheels and look for that number on them. They arnt the same as the link that was posted and i didnt see them on the mfg's site either.

Thanks for the heads up on that tire size too.

Here are the wheels i have on my 4 runner from the factory. They look like the 20" wheels but i wanted the 18's. I looked all around behind the face of the wheel and couldnt see any stampling or mold marks with a backspacing on them. Did you mean on the where the rim of the wheel would be on the inside or on the somewhat horizontal portion around the brakes?

275/55 R18's are what i have on there now for tires.
