I have an '07 Sport and sized up to Good Year Wrangler Silent Armors. Great tires.
Might also look at Nokians if you live in the snowy areas.

What about Goodyear Wrangler SR-A's?? Those seem to be the only tires I can find for my 4Runner at Wally World(Walmart) in Rapid City. I wish Uniroyal made Destination A/T's for the 4Runner as I have those on my 99 Dodge Ram and are GREAT!

Michelin Cross Terrains are the best tire I've ever had. Would recommend any time.
I'm thinking you're going to get recommendations all over the board with this questiion. It would be a lot easier if you told us what you were really looking for in a tire, the type of driving you do the most with this vehicle, suspension configuration (now and future), and where you live... Beyond that, I'd go on to Tire Rack's website and see what's available

Oh yea, I have used stock bridgestone 840s for 40k mi and then Mich cross terrains for 30k since then - Mich are superior and a great street tire. Almost impossible to get to hydroplane and are very quiet. But it all depends on your driving conditions/style/needs. Give answers to those questions and you'll get better responses.

I have LT265 70 R16 tires for the Ram. I got them about a year ago and still have lots of tread on em. EXCELLENT traction anywhere and ride down the road nicely. Takes like 50 lbs of air to fill them. They would not fit on my 4Runner as I have 17 inch rims.

What about the best car handling type of tire? I use my 4runner for suburban/urban duty only.
I do like the Yoko Geolanders on it right now. Visually nice looking as well. Sporty and square.

michelin cross terrains... may cost a bit more, but i dont think you'll find a better all around tire. they will also last a long time... 50k+ miles.
X2, great tire. Had them through the winter w/ ABSOLUTLY no problems, very quiet and comfortable on road with good cornering (well I have the XREAS) and very good in the soft sand on the outer beach when I air down to 18psi. +1 on the Michelin Cross Terrains. I replaced my stock Dunlops about a month ago and have been very pleased. The difference handling on wet pavement is noticable.

Fantastic tires for city/highway and some one-off terrains. Very quiet and soft. Probably not going to be very good for alot of mud or off-roading though.

OK I never post in the 4th gen forum but since just got new tires I figured I would share. The are a fairly new tire, Good Year Wrangler Duratrac 265-75-16. They are pretty close to a Mud Terrain but are super quiet on the street. I had the Good Year Silent Armour's before and these aren't much louder.
