I am finally going to be buying new wheels and tires this week. I have decided on wheels (17" Black MB TKO's) however I'm undecided on tires. Just looking for some suggestions. I do not go off road/trails/beach etc. Truck is basically an everyday vehicle. I am looking at Michelin M/S2's...any other suggestions?

Cooper AT3s. A lot of guys are running them, they're not really aggressive at all and come with a 55k warranty. There are a couple of threads about them and reviews on the 5th gen section somewhere.
 
I was also considering the Coopers, but the Discount Tires version, the ATP. The tread is a little more aggressive on the corners compared to the AT3s.

It'll be the ATPs or Duratracs....
 
Thanks guys...Do the Coopers come with black sidewalls? I searched and it seems that it only comes with white lettering? The Nitto's come in black.

Didn't want to start another thread to just ask a question but will these wheel specs be ok for factory suspension?

Wheels are 17x9, backspacing 4.52, and offset -12

At 400 miles took the stock Dunlops off my SR5 4x4 and went with the Michelin M/S2's you mentioned. I've always had those (or their predecessor M/S) over the years, great tires for primarily road use in all weather conditions.

Here's the tire I chose for my 4Runner. It's still a P-Series tire, so you're not running a LT which weighs more and has a little rougher ride. These came highly recommended to me and they give the vehicle a little more aggressive look.

As for your wheels. Your backspacing is fine, but a -12 offset is going to make the wheel stick out much more than stock i'm pretty sure. There are a ton of threads on here about offset and backspacing. Do a little searching and you will finds tons of info and photos to give you a better idea.
 
Think the Coopers are white wall on one side only. Recommendation is to flip them. Engineer runs them and has a thread on them.

I had around 30K on my Cooper tires before trading the SR5 in for a TE. I will get these again soon.
If I stayed on the highway and never went off road I would get the Michelins. They are the best pure road tire for dry, wet and snow and durable too. If you ever go even in slick grassy or muddy areas the Michelins quickly show their weak side. Their tread block is too tight for any clearing and quickly become clogged. The Coopers are the best for primary road with some off highway excursions thrown in that I have found so far. Firestone Destinations are good too. Goodyear Duratracs are overkill for my use as way more miles on road than off. The guys that run them down here (Duratracs) are the gas line and mining people who are off road every single day for miles at a time. I am off road a lot but usually for just a few miles or so and not every day for 20 miles. Our local Sam's Club keeps the Duratracs in stock lol.
 
I'm running Cooper Discoverer ATP's on my truck.

Very happy with them to date. Both on-road (city and highway) and offroad. Details on my selection process are in my build thread. It was basically between the ATPs and Duratracs and the price and warranty won me over to the Coopers.

I have Cooper AT3's and am very happy with them. I am off paved highway quite a bit for work and fun. So far they have worked well, except for deep rotten snow, which I found out this weekend. The highway and off road conditions that I have driven have exceeded my expectations.

I haven't been in a situation where they haven't got me through it, even in snow, they were quite impressive I thought, but we are talking California snow :hiding:. I'm at 10K with them almost and they still look brand new, I have a feeling they will go beyond 55k.

They have been fairly quite for a moderately aggressive tire, though I am starting to hear a faint hum on the highway, but that's without any music or casual conversation, no big deal.

The only other less than stellar performance for these tires that I have noticed is in mud, than again even mud tires can get stuck.

Thanks guys for all the advice. As for the wheels...how much will the -12 offset stick out? I just saw the XD Hoss wheels which come with the -12 offset and really like them. So now I'm indecisive on wheels as well now! Ugh!! So many choices.....
