Tire Decision

Well after research ad nauseum, I decided on the Cooper ATPs in a 265/70/17 from Home - Discount Tire Direct. I paid $698.00 thanks to a $50 credit they are running right now. It was a close call between the Duratracs (Load C) on Buy Tires and Wheels Online and Get Free Shipping | TireBuyer.com and the Toyo Open Country AT2s on Discount Tires for Sale - Tires, Wheels & Accessories | Tread Depot. The Toyos were $700 + shipping = $803 (Load E) and the Duratracs were $825 - $60 mail in rebate + $52 tax (free shipping) = $817

The Toyos and the ATPs carry a warranty, the Duratracs do not.

The ATPs won out based on the unbeatable price, the Load E range, and the 55k warranty. It was a tough decision and I think I would have been happy with all three. Hope this info helps anyone else looking right now. Pics when they get here!
 
Can't go wrong with any of those that you listed. Can't wait to see pics. I had a couple things pop up so I haven't got my wheels and tires installed yet

Cooper ATPs was a good choice. Had the Toyos and I'm not impress with them. I found the Toyos did not have great treadlife even when rotated.
 
Put my old Dunlops (34k miles) on CL for $100 and got a few bites if anyone is wanting to offload theirs, I'll forward on my sloppy seconds. I only need one buyer so the rest are yours.

^^ looks great! Did they really mess up that much plastidip during mounting that all you have left is the dipped center caps? I actually kind of like it with the silver rims and black caps :)

They were pretty scuffed up around the rim edges from pulling the old tires off and I figured I'd just redo them so I stripped them to the center caps. Just need time to dip them!
 
The only advice I can offer is AVOID the Toyo Open Country ATs.

I have had to have them rebalanced every 2000 miles almost exactly. They have been back to the tire shop more times than I care to even think about. Every single time they are out of balance and require new weights. Every single time they fix it for about... 2000 miles.

They are also complete garbage on hard packed snow/ice. Maybe my fault for not siping them, but they are the worst tire I've ever owned on snow/ice.

I've got about 12,000 miles on them and I'm REALLY considering replacing them. That bad.

I have these on my '17. They're working fine for me, haven't had to rebalance.
I've had good traction in rocks, sand, dirt & mud. Haven't driven in snow with them, not much of that here in the desert (though we did have a dusting Christmas day).
I'm glad my experience with them has been different than yours, sorry yours has been negative.

I quite like my "stock" Nitto Terra Grapplers, and dont quite understand why so many guys jettison them immediately for something else. Great on-road tire, and good enough offroad to get you out of trouble.
