To lift or level. That is the question

here is my trouble..06 4runner SR5 with the stock 16 in wheels. I want to lift and I am looking a the Daystar 2.5 spacer. However I am not going to upsize the tires right now and my no at all. I am ding this on a budget as my wife says so. No I cannot trade her so I am forced to do this in stages. My worry is that on the 16 in rims it will look a bit dorky untill I get larger tires. Does anyone have pics of the 2.5 Daystar on the 16 inch rims? I have see some on the 17s and 18s but no the 16s. I at the least want to level the stance. Pics would be nice.

16's with the right tires is argueably better. You have a much greater (and cheaper) tire selection. Search the user jmilligan. He has a lifted T4R on 16" rims IIRC.

The bottom line is your 265/70/16's are the same as my 265/65/17's (same as 265/60/18's that some have) in terms of overall diameter.

i was thinking about doing the same thing. I don't have the money for new tires yet but wanted a small leveling kit to lift the front. I don't think it looks bad on the link. I have 17s so it adds another inch or so.

That does not look as bad as I thought. I worry putting 8 hrs into a lift to find out I do not like it. Thanks for the link to the photo.

And... The one in the photo has coilovers. They look cranked way up to me. It think his rig looks good and yours will probably be a hair lower than the one in the pic.

FYI- Mention the following to the shop that's going to do the install or if you're going to do it...

More than one person has stetched/broken the ABS sense wire while installing the lift. Be very careful. While it may not seem necessary I'd suggest unhooking the wire from the sensor and it's attachment points while you're installing the lift. http://www.toyota-4runner.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=42630

don't know how high is Revtek, it looks more than 2.5"..

Good looking out on the Sensor Wire. If I can find a shop that will do it without costing an arm and a leg I will go that route just as a liability thing like Speed sensor wires etc. If not a friend and myself will do it. The first shop wanted 340+allignment and said 4 hours. However with the new top out design of the Daystar I do not think it will take a shop that long. Finding a shop in Raleigh NC to do that is a bit more difficult then I expected. Im not 100 % sure of the new topout design . I liked the preload and topout combo but I only want the clearance for mild offroad like getting back to my favorite fishing\hunting spots etc. The topout will prob do me fine
