To lift or not to lift? .... yet

Okay i am at the point where i need to start saving up for my next big purchase,

should i

A: get a lift and have to drive around on 265 70 highway tires for a few months?

B: get a new arb style bumper like a arb, tjm, or shrockworks or custom?

or

C: drive into the lake.

cause i want to make sure there isnt to much saggage in front from a heavy bumper if i buy tires before i put a heavy bumper.


opinions guys? cause my runner looks the same size as a cherroke with a 2inch lift haha so can i pull off an arb already?

you should get a lift and save for some tires.

i agree. im running a 3in lift on 265 70 and its fine. it could use bigger tires but doesnt look out of place.

i gotta do something.

there are tons and tons of 4runners here, and i hate driving the same thing that i see girls, ladies and 80yr old old people driving, so lift is good but you cant do anything extreme with a lift really 3 is the max, and i think i could have a more dramatic effect with other things first.

Just kidding, I vote for lift!! I installed my lift when i had 265 70 17s and i still have them, it looks kinda pu*sy but hey, im lifted and its so dope.... but then again my reason for lifting was because my rear shocks were shot.

ha my rear shocks are shot too! lol thats my excuse to maybe get a lift now. I say get a lift too. sorry to steal your thread but i have a quick question, we dont need to get any detail or anything, but i duno does anyone know if just new shocks/struts will change the stance maybe raise an inch or so? also i want some red springs if possible. can anyone point me in the right direction? thanks

shocks wont give you any lift. new spirings in rear and coilovers/ or springs up front will. ive seen red coilovers too.

I think sway-a-way coilovers have red springs, but i could be wrong

I'd get armor before a lift. Which means sliders/skids/bumper (in that order). This is if you're going to be off-roading a lot and need protection. The 3" lift is not going to give you any protection from the rocks and trees.

If this is for looks, then do a lift.

ooo ok so ive only heard bad things a/b coilovers dont they jack up your cv joints or wheel bearings? i can remember? but thanks, so i should be lookin at fabtec... i gotta look around thats the only company i know of that makes coil overs hah

Yeah that's going to be my next purchase too, but what sucks is that I'll have to wait until I have enough money to bu both a lift and tires at the same time. I'm running the stock 225/75 tires now and if I got a lift w/o bigger tires it would just look silly. But I don't want to get tires until I have a lift because I won't know how they'll look with the lift. :bash:
