To Plasti Dip or not

My rims have the usual corrosion on them and was thinking of black plasti dip
Any thoughts?

I've done that. I use my originals to mount my winter tires and the finish was crap.

I cleaned the wheels and sprayed them with plasti-Dip. A year and a half after a Canadian winter, gravel, salt and all, they still look good.

In fact, I plasti-Dipped my grill 3 years ago and it is still holding up.

Try it out. If you dont like it then peal it off. Just make sure you put it on thick enough. A can per wheel is a good rule of thumb.

Yeah if you don't put it on thick enough its a real pain in the a$$ to peel off. Like others have said, it holds up pretty well and it can be temporary if you want

Spray paint over the dip for any color you want. Have done this several times.

I had the same issue with my 3rd Gen...the Plasti dip made the rims look sooo much better.

Definitely do it. Worth it for sure. And yes, it lasts quite a long time. Thickness is the key, spray atleast 5-6 coats per wheel. I used 3 cans to do all 4 wheels.

I would like to do it on my son's Tacoma. I would like to use the metallic, either anthracite or aluminum. Has anybody tried these newer colors? IMO black rims are over done. Colors:
