To the guys with Bilsteins on...

Have you noticed less body lean in crosswinds? I live in the TUNDRA (NW MN) with 40mph winter winds, and the body roll I get on crosswinds shakes my confidence (especially in mid winter with snow-packed roads).

I WILL Buy if they would make a big difference, but I don't wanna buy a sugar pill.

BTW, the rig is equipped with Michelin Latitude Tour Rubbers, Not my first choice, but I had to compromise because most of the miles are on-road.

Toytec CoilOvers W/ Bilstein Shocks + Eibach coils TTAFCS-HA

If states that there is an avg 3" lift with this... I just wonder if it would be worth going this route, because I could then install these myself.
Not sure if I want a 3" lift (a subtle lift would be ok with me). I would have to put them on at night...with my wife sleeping. I would then play dumb when she says "what the hell; why does the 4runner look so high?"

I'm considering getting those as well....Toytec has them on sale currently. I will likely get some bilstein 5100's for the rear and put the Superflex coils on them.

I have the toytec ultimate lift, with bilsteins. It's going to improve any roll or dive issue IMO. If crosswinds are huge I might consider not lifting it though, mine is definitely more susceptible to wind drift post lift.

I am certainly not an expert in this field, but I remember others talking about the Bilstein "adjustable" shocks and using them on the front. Most set them at .85 just enough to get rid of the "rake", (subtle lift). 1-1.5 inches I think. So, if these are the same shocks being used with the coilovers, you might be on the right track here. I would call TRD and discuss. I would also search the forum and see if you can glean out the part number of the shocks I spoke of and see if they are the same ones being used here. Good luck. Well, that the beauty of a coilover...They are adjustable. If you don't want 3", then adjust to a lower setting.

I can't speak for this setup myself, but others are running it and are completely happy.

How are these adjusted? They do not look to be adjusted with a spanner wrench like a typical coilover. I assume it is adjusted within the Bilstein shock?

They're a bilstein 5100 w/ adjaustable collar and a toytec spring. They are adjustable by taking it apart and moving the collar in pre-set 10mm increments. They are not as adjustable as the toytec ultimate front coilovers.

Oh okay. Well I am glad I didn't jump on these then. After adding in the rear Toytec Superflex springs and 5100s I was almost as much as the Ultimate kit.
