I just vacuum them. They don't really get dirty since the 4R doesn't get driven much. Even if it did, they wouldn't really get dirty, I just like to keep my cars clean.
If for some reason there is a stain, I use a good shampoo product. I think I currently use Blue Magic or something like that. Works well.
I do plan on getting leather in there sometime though.

I also just vacuum -- haven't had any spills on it yet (although I probably just jinxed myself

Also, I periodically apply 303's fabric protectant. In testing it, the product seems to bead a light misting of water pretty well, but I don't want to try it by deliberately spilling something on it. But you have to carefully test the fabric protectants just like the instructions tell you to do. I once used Scotchgard on the Camry, and while the seats were OK, the carpet got discolored; in fairness, I also have to state that I called 3M Customer Service to find out what I could have done wrong and how to fix it, and they ended up volunteering to replace the carpet, which showed how well they stood behind their products and reputation.

I just put a set of seatcovers on all the seats soon after I purchased my 4Runner. With elderly parents, very young nieces and nephews and just general hauling of stuff the covers keep the seats clean. When the covers get dirty they get washed or replaced. It also helps to put bath towels under the seat covers to help absorb any spills or accidents.
If you are like me and tend to keep vehicles for a LONG time, seat covers are the only way to go when the vehicle has cloth seats.
