To tint or not to tint?

I have an appointment in an hour to get my windows tinted...they are factory tinted now...but I was going to black out all of the windows (rear 2 doors, rear 2 side windows and rear window) to the legal tint and the front 2 windows to whatever is legal here.

Anyone have pics of their 3rd Gen tinted? I only have an hour to decide!! :driving:

I would match the tint. I don't really like unmatched tint unless it's close.

Well in Alabama you can get as dark as you want BEHIND the driver's seat...and on the front windows I think you can do like 32% only...and you can only do the top 6" of the windshield

I would personally just do whatever you want and forget about the rules. It's gonna look a little weird with like 5% on the back and 30% up front.

How about matching the fronts to the rears and seeing how you like it? Then you could always go back and get all the windows tinted if it wasn't dark enough.

I was just hoping to black out the back for long road trips...with a sleeping platform back there it will be a little darker and cooler maybe.

Do you have any large pics of your tint? Is yours blacked out?

Just doing the fronts would also save a good bit of money. It should be in the $60-80 range.

My windows are tinted to 5% all around with 45% on the windshield. I also have the windshield banner done in 5%.

Here are the fronts with 20% and stock tint in the back. No windshield tint and lots of sun:

i drove a freinds car with really dark tint all around it sucked at night trying to back up its not bad with ours cause you can roll the back window down

Ahh screw it. Going with 5% on backs and 32% on the fronts. Might look strange but it will at least match every other AL tinted windows...haha.

I think matching the fronts to the rear looks the best. I think the window banner looks tacky. That's just my opinion though.

Good luck and tinting the fronts shouldn't be to expensive.

thats my plan is to have the front tinted to match got a qoute of 65 dollars

I see you got the same color 4runner as me. You might like what you see. Check out my thread's last pictures. There is a before and after of my tint. I went with 18% over the factory stuff in the rear windows and 18% on the front 2 windows. looks great. Considering getting the fronts to be a little darker

Wow...I didn't realize how dark that tint was going to be! They put 15% over the factory tint and said it was around 5%. You can't see in...even if you put your face right up to it. I like it.

The fronts are 32% but in this picture they look blacked out b/c of the angle I took the pic.

You can also see my new 16" rims and new Firestone Destination LEs (265/70/16) that I just got put on Monday.

15% over factory in the back is equal to 5 on the front. thats what ive got and it matches great. and i also have 35 on the windshield....
