tominabox1 lost his virginity today!

So I did it, I went off-roading!!!!! Of course I did it all wrong (went by myself, went without telling anybody, drove on pavement with the center diff locked {only for a little bit}...)

BUT I had a blast and I really had some adrenaline going when I was done - I was shaking.

Anyhow, the place a friend of mine knew was like 8 miles out of town and I am not sure what its for or where it goes but there's no signs posted where I was so I guess its fair game? As you can see, lots of potholes filled with the gooey stuff, no obstacles but enough to freak me out. Just about every one I thought, "oh boy there's no way I could get through that without getting stuck." But I had NO problem on any of them. It was freaking amazing!!!! Just 4Hi, lock the diff and go!

I didn't stay out long because I was freaking out and I was afraid to go too far Just about a half mile from where these were shot, there's a little hill back to the paved road (this is where I had the diff locked on pavement).

Really it was a weak attempt but it sure got me going and MAN do I want it more!!!!

It is very addicting! Even though my 4Runner is 2WD I have taken it off road a couple of times and man is it fun!

Well my oldest brother lives in Boulder, in fact I'll be out there this week for the holiday. Not taking the 4Runner though and I think if my dad knew I was off roading with his old truck he'd kill me

BUT I would LOVE to get out on some trails with some guys from the forum. At least they'd know what the heck they were doing! I'm trying to scrounge up another guy I know with a 4x4 that can go back out with me in case I get stuck!

If I didn't have 500 lbs of amp subs and batteries weighin me down I would do it too...

They don't let you off base while in the Academy? I mean they don't let us off in basic so I guess it kinda makes sense but, you are there a lot longer than 6 weeks
