Too Much Fuel Pressure please help

Hi All,

I have a quick question with a long explanation.
To sum it up:
I have a 93 4 runner 4x4. the motor was bad so I shipped it to APR for a rebuild.
I sent a 93 3.0 motor to APR and recieved a motor with 92 heads.
They sent me the timing componants and stated everything "should" work.
I have the motor in and when I first crank it over it will fire and then flood in that order.
Tried cranking it with the peddle to the floor, nothing.
Let it sit and she will fire and flood.

Any ideas are appritiated..

the heads wouldn't effect the fuel pressure, but they could have different size valves. have you checked the timing to see if it's correct?? Also you may want to check to be sure your ecu doesn't need to match the parts they gave you to change out

Uhhhhhh, have you tried calling APR and ask them why they put the 92 heads in, if they can diagnose the problem/what kind of warranty they have on the rebuild, or tried to hook up a timing light? What timing components are you referring to? If it's the distributer, are you sure its in right?

Just a few questions off the top of my head.

I had the same problem, but it was in my 22re. I spent $100 on a new fuel pressure regulator and it fixed the problem.

Thanks everyone...

To answer a few of the questions.

"Uhhhhhh, have you tried calling APR and ask them why they put the 92 heads in, if they can diagnose the problem/what kind of warranty they have on the rebuild" or tried to hook up a timing light? What timing components are you referring to? If it's the distributer, are you sure its in right?

The rebuild has a 3 year 36k mile warrenty. They said heads were the same except timing componant.
Timeing light shows right in the money.
Timing on the 93 is a spring loaded tensioner. the 92 is a bolt on manual tensioner.

Distributer marks are all lined up as well as the cam marks and cank mark.

"Also you may want to check to be sure your ecu doesn't need to match the parts they gave you to change out"

Any ideas on how to check the ECU?
