Too Much Lift on Coil Overs ?????

After putting the 3" Toytec lift on my truck, visually it does look lifted from stock. I measured the rear from tire center on the ground and got 37 1/2 inches to bottom of the fender. for the Front.....it measured 35" even. I was looking to put a 3" leveling kit on the front to do 2 things....first level out the truck ( and yes I have the shocks to max height) and secondly to help out with tire rubbing. With my standard 265/65/17 and 1.25" spydertrax spacers- I still get tire rubbing on a cranked left and right turn.

So when I emailed the [email protected] rep said that would be too much lift. I do owe him a call back for further explanation but from a logical point of view, would't the 3" help level out the truck????

Great question, I look forward to the answer cause my same Toytec lift goes on tonight/tomorrow- but from The truck Shoppe in NY not me.

I have been told that the pinch weld needs to be hammered to avoid rubbing issues- but I'd have to go back and double check the post.

what toytec lift did u put on & are u asking about wether or not to install coilovers instead? he may be saying not to use the coilovers with lifting spacers. did u get a good alignment after lifting it? u may also be getting tire rub because of the wheel spacers, just move the inner fender forward. Toyota 4Runner Wheel Spacers

don't install spacers on top of coilovers. it's a recipie for disaster

I agree with you all.....and come to find out, our friends at XYZ lift company did NOT have it lifted UP.....they lifted it DOWN. Note the damage on the ring. They also had the wrenches to turn the ring UP so that I would get max ride height. MAN....it's hard to get good help!!!!

I can't believe how bad they screwed that up, and they gave it back to you with no word of what they did? what *******s, I'd make them buy me new ones, and pay another shop to install them, that is crazy, best of luck to you with everything. sometimes the extra hassle and work of doing it yourself is worth it.

Wow...that's bad! I would also recommend taking it back ASAP. Get those removed and get some replacements. That should have never happened. If they have any integrity or wish to preserve their reputation they will pay for the parts, removal and re-installation. I feel hacked just looking at it...and it's not even my truck. Good luck!

Yep....spoke to Ben and he got me all squared away! Thank you....here is the updated Pic with the proper lift height....still in negotiations about the damage.

It looks good! What wheels are those? I really like them.

I would make them at least buy new adjusting rings for the co's if not the whole co. I can almost bet they where trying to adjust them with the vehicle weight on them.
