Drove two different 2005 V6 SR5s and one V8 Limited. To me not much difference in performance. Both engines seem to have enough get up and go.. still want to test the 2005 V8 before I make any decision. My big question is, after I drove the first V6 I came back to the dealer and said I thought something was wrong with the transmission. Whenever I took my foot off the gas it felt like the emergency brake was on. (No, I didn't have the E brake on) The truck seemed to slow down as if someone was lightly touching the brake. (No, it wasn't me) Then I drove a second V6 SR5 and it did the same thing. I then drove the 2004 V8 Limited and still the same thing. Is this normal on the 5 speed trans? Also, I was a little disappointed in the noise level of the V6. Not that the V8 was much better, but the V6, epecially when accelerating, is damn noisy. Does anyone know if the new V8 is a bit quieter and also does the transmission learn your driving habits? When I got back in my old Chevy, I drive along normal, let my foot off the gas pedal and the truck rolls along fine with no feeling of someone putting on the brakes. Just wondering if anyone else has noticed this. By the way, the seat felt fine, no shaking or ratteling as some have reported and also I drove on a highway at 75 to 80 mph, no vibration in steering wheel and no stink from the rearend. Thanks to all. This forum has been very helpful.
