Top Gear USA

has anyone got a chance to watch the latest Top Gear on History Channel?

The host had $3000 dollars to buy a truck but if the truck they brought fails, they have to drive a 93 Hilux..

Seriously Top Gear?

I would take the Hilux in a heart beat.

The race is similar to the one on the original Top Gear in UK.

sorry for the rant.

That episode is on right now. That is a nice hilux too. my 2nd choice would be the dodge Rutledge bought.

But hey, its wannabe top gear, what do you expect? haha

British top gear wasn't too good its first couple seasons, give it time, but the guy who is isnt Rutledge and Tanner needs to go, he sucks. What they need is an overspoken host who thinks he knows everything, which is why i feel i should have the job.

why not try Japan's toughest truck?

Tacoma, Tundra, Ridgeline. Frontier and Titan? Throw the Dodge in as a backup vehicle :naughty:

overall the episode was funny..

Casper,

I loved it when Rutledge's Camper got run over.. :naughty:

I've tried to give the US version several chances, but I just can't do it. It's no comparison to the UK version. The hosts have zero charisma in my opinion and they try to use far too much of the UK Top Gear material.

There can be only one...

america screws all good foreign programming up, the uk top gear is the dogs bullocks thats for sure!

It was hilarious. If I was in the domestics, I'd break down on purpose to be in the Toyota mini-truck.

The tundra is an american made truck. There are no tundras in japan

oh poop.. Though they were made in Japan like our 4runners.. thanks for clearing it up for me bud.

Good news though, new Top Gear UK this coming weekend :D

I was telling a friend earlier today that they just don't seem like good friends like the Top Gear UK guys do. TG:UK reminds me of what me and two buddies would do if we had a TV show with funding like that. It just feels right.

I think the US show has potential, but Adam needs to go and they need to find a Jeremy or James kind of guy. Tanner has the potential to be a Jeremy-type host, but he needs to get more of a personality. Rutledge is the Hammond equivalent: country dude that's easy to pick on.

I'm not giving up on it yet. But I can't wait until the new season of TG:UK. :D

It might just be me but I really can't "click" or whatever with the host's. I find the UK TG hosts to be funny as $hit but these USA TG seem to be lacking something. I'm sure all they need it time but they might get the axe before they get good. Although I can't wait for this sunday!:wink2:

lol, i just don't think they are funny at all..like they try to hard, and thats the thing about captain slow, hamster and clarkson, is like what you guys said they just don't seem like they are friends but rather hosts, plus i just like the brit style of humor better on the uktg, way more sarcastic and kind of mean, hahaha
