[Lots of likes vs. dislikes. I spent a year looking at SUVs and drove just about every one out there. I originally looked at crossover models (RX330, MDX, Endeavor, Toureg, Pilot, etc) but later gravitated towards truck-based after I established my towing and backwoods requirements. Drove many domestic and import models but once I drove the 4Runner and GX470 models, I knew I wasn't giving up much in the way of on-road handling and comfort. As a long-time Toyota owner (and supplier), I have more faith in this brand than any other re. reliability. Their track record speaks volumes.

I strongly considered the GX and test drove it many times. Whiile I love it's interior, better audio system, voice activated nav. and appreciate the even quieter environment, I coudn't justify another 12K over the Limited Runner. After driving both models on the same day over the same route several times, I feel that the X-REAS equipped Runner handled better with a less tippy feeling. It moves out faster (due to less weight) and just feels tighter with more control.

Hey, we own one of the most capable stock vehicles on the planet that makes little or no compromise in doing it all - both on and off-road. While some may consider a 43k V8 Limited as "pricey", I have come to think of it as a deal vs. the competition. [/B]

I am NOT complaining about my 4Runner. I was merely being objective re. the few minor gripes I have. No vehicle is perfect but IMO the 4Runner comes closest in it's class. You would be hard pressed to find a more capable, reliable, and well-rounded SUV regardless of price.

No worries, I don't think anyone had a problem with your post. I have a handfull of 4Runner gripes myself, but they are outweighed by the positives. Sorry for giving the wrong impression about your post, I definitely should have worded that differently. I just thought it was funny that the guy praised you for having at least something negative to say.

you know i rarely post here not unless i could really help or i would really like to know something about my runner..but by being a 'junior MEMBER' it just ticks you off when someone who is a GUEST bashes my 4RUNNER BROTHERS..i mean c'mon..you don't even own one yet..i don't mind about the occasional sarcasms but being appaled by not hearing what you wanted US to say about our vehicles is just plain wrong...the 4runner is a very capable off-roader..it may not keep up with the new GC in the mud but it'll get you there..and besides its not like youre competing whoever's the fastest to get out of the mud(from experience)my dad has a Cayenne Turbo--it is a very sporty fast suv with almost the same options that you want EXCEPT its not really good off-road..street tires that get punctured easily and $1300 for the scorpion tires/balance/alignment and labor thru the dealer..but for $101,980 you wouldnt want it off road..anyway, just be careful on what you say because we LOVE our 4RUNNERS..we did not form this organization so that one obnoxious person can scrutinize what we HAVE IN OUR DRIVEWAY..

i know i was wrong for comparing the 4runner with the GC..but up to now my friend just keeps saying that his is better than mine just because he was able to get out faster..anyway, about the turbo,it eats gas! more than my truck..he bought the tires thru the dealer because he doesnt trust costco to do that for him..he was going to make me pay since i was the one who did it to his car..but i told him how was i suppose to pay for college? haha that did it for me..

Let's put this into perspective. The US & Canada population is about 8% of the world. Having both those vehicles probably puts you in the top 15% of the N. American crowd. Therefore that puts you around the top 1% in the world. You gots it made bubba!
