They bolt through the pinch weld in about 10 spots and the rivet to the rocker panel in about 10 spots. Very solid once you get all the attachment points in place.

BB Bumpouts "impossible" to step on and got your pants dirty?! Mmmkay...
My whole family can use mine for a step, heck its the only way my 2- year old grandson can climb in by himself.
I must admit it's amazing though that the SW slider doesn't get your pants dirty... especially if the can be utilized as a step in any way. Must be some voodoo magic going on there.
I seriously don't get how you could do better than these BB Bumpouts... But that's me and that's why there are other options for those with different opinions... even if they are flawed. (Joking ).

Internet communications are hard to relay opinions sometimes and what they are worth but for the most part I agree with you. The budbuilts are not good steps, however I LOVE mine because they function as sliders, work well as a step to wash and wax the roof (one day i will put something like a rack and actually use them to load/unload). They make getting in and out require.......thought or at least knowing what you are doing. Everyone that doesn't know what a slider is think they are bent steps and ask "is that supposed to be bent.....". If the OP main concern is a step having Bud make them straight vs angled would be perfect and thats what I would do over getting the other brands just based on my experience with them (good products, decent delivery time, reasonable price, good customer service)

I agree with you 100%. The bumpout makes accessing the roof super easy. They were first rate products (although my used set was dented on the one pipe already) and you can't beat the beefy mounting brackets. I have nothing against the product, I just bought a set of BB skids and again they're top notch.
Sliders just weren't my thang. :cowboy:

To say the BB Bumpouts are impossible to step on is simply not true. And frankly every step/slider/nerd bar will get your pants dirty if you let them.

There was a similar Sliders query from yesterday or earlier and here was my response as why I opted for BudBuilts:
After consideration of the very same problem, plus the need to describe these sliders to my wife as "running boards", protection of your rocker panels if you start hugging a large rock or ledge, and the practical aspect of being able to jack either side of your vehicle up.........I went with the BudBuilt Beefy Sliders, and since I've occasionally got little people w/small feet and women with weird heels on their shoes who might get hung up on something open---their product provides the option of the diamond-plate insert the entire length for greater safety.
"Most" vehicles in parking lots will impact the slider before they hit your door with theirs.....that's why I feel these are worth the price as they do so many things

I've been on the fence for over a year on these, thinking of trimming my rockers to run them. I question how they bolt together but Slee makes legit parts for all the LC's.
I ran with the LC community for about a 15 years with two FJ40's, ans Slee makes some high quality stuff based on what Ive seen. I'm torn between these and Budbuilt. Have some time to think about it while I recover from the cost of the Gobi...too many cool accessories for 4Runners!

I got to personally see these in Vermont last October on Paul May's truck (owns Eqipt) and way impressed. Initially I was worried about the bolt together configuration, but Slee stands behind their products, plus they ship regular UPS/USPS
