Tornado in Denver

CO folks, I just heard from my family that lives in Aurora / Cherry Creek and apparently they just went through a tornado!

They got stuck in Lowe's and it ripped off the storm doors etc. Apparently lots of small injuries and minimal damage - respectively.

Anyway, just wanted to throw out some good tidings to any of you who may have gotten stuck in that - hope you are OK.

I hope everyones ok.

I remember thinking how strange it was seeing the tornado shelters at the Denver airport when I was there last year.

where was I ??? didnt see or hear anything other than some small (very small) hail. Im not far from there, heard the sirens, thats it

Yeah, I seen that one that hit the mall area about 2:15pm today.
Was on my way to work near Centenial airport which is a little to close for comfort. Was almost ready to dispatch crew to our Disaster recovery site just outside of Castle Rock, which I overlook. We were all glued to the radar for the afternoon. Then an F16 departed Centenial at approx. 4pm. Then Friday evening at 9:15pm there was an emergency landing at Centenial. A plane (taxi) was diverted from DIA due to no landing gear deployed. He circled Centenial airport for 1 1/2 hours to burn off some fuel then landed on the belly. Been one of those weekends at work .......

im less than 5miles away from that lowes and southlands mall. i got a ton of heavy hail and high winds at my house and was waiting on a tornado to hit us.
i got up early washed my car and was 10mins away from heading to the mall but i decided not to with the hail.
glad no one was really hurt i wish i could have seen it though

Yeah, scary sh!t for those who live out east. Luckily I live right up against the foothills where tornadoes are much less common. No hail or severe wind at our place either, thankfully.

Yeah, over here it was just cloudy and actually was a nice day in SW Denver metro and I was glued to the Wii for a few hours and didn't even know anything happened til that night.

we had a few more tornado warnings this week.. none touched down in my area this time thankfully...at least we get to see a few nice shots like this
