torsion bar lift?

I'm guessing that this has been talked about before, but I couldn't find anything when using the search function. Is it possible to get a few inches of suspension lift safely by adjusting the torsion bars? Obviously, a wheel alignment will be needed if this is done.
I'm looking to get just enough lift to fit a set of 33's on. I am considering getting replacement coils or spacers for the rear. Just looking for any ideas or recommendations on a cheap method to achieve this if possible.

You can get 1-2" from cranking t-bars, but remember, what you gain in one direction you'll lose in the other (compression). And yes you'll need an alignment.

And 2" may not be enough for 33's, have you thought about a 2" body lift also?
