torsion bars?

I am working on my truck and I am needing to raise my front end. I was told that you could "crank the torsion bars". I was wondering what this would entail and how many inches I could raise it. I am currnetly running 34's and have very little rubbing. I recently raised the rear end and was looking ot lift the front. Any info is greatly appreciated, Sam.

You can get 1-1.5" max, but you will loose the same amount of travel in the other direction. It makes the CV joints operate close to their max angle, and you will need a front end alignment.

Ball joint spacers is a better method.

This is the first time I have heard of ball-joint spacers. What would that involve for my '87? i.e. Where to get them?
Are they as easy to install as the ball-joints themselves?
