Total Chaos shock hoop and bypass installation

This weekend I got a chance to install the Total Chaos UCA, secondary shock hoop and coil bucket gussets. Thanks to Nicole and Pat at TC, great customer service and always very helpful.

I ended up running a King 2.5 8" 2 tube bypass for a Tacoma with LT. So, in the future if I run LT I can still use the bypass shock. With the 8" you can't get full extension on the shock so you never get out of the rebound bypass, but that's not an issue for me.

I highly recommend removing the fender when doing anything extensive in the fender well. Not only is everything much more accessible, but the lighting is also much better. Plus, it only takes 15 minutes to remove.

To be continued............................

I still need to finish the DS! :thumb:

looks killer. I plan on doing that when I go LT but never thought about doing it with the stock arms. Noticed much of a difference with the bypass?

I just drove it around the block a little bit, so I don't know yet. I did drive it off a couple curbs  and it feels much more controlled. Couldn't tell I was driving off anything. I still have to finish the drivers side. You definitely notice the additional dampening.

Now that is straight king status. May I ask, how much for the kit and shocks and all around ? How hard was the by pass installation? Any Fabrication or is it just bolt on/weld on ?

I bought almost everything used and accumulated it over a period of time.

The bypass installation is pretty straight forward. It took awhile to get the location just right so the tire didn't hit the bypass tubes. The hoop kit comes with everything and you just weld it together. I did cut the inner fender out so the tube didn't hit it.

The hardest part by far was installing the coil bucket gussets. They were a PITA to weld.
