Do you have to do that? What's the difference between lotus axles and TC axles ? What was the hardest part of this installation?

If you want that skid angle you need a shorter radiator. On the TC axle they modify the inner cv to allow more travel. The lotus axles have thicker cv cages. Either would be fine. The hardest part is removing the rack to get the rear lower a-arm bolts out.

Chrome axles shafts as well I believe


You can modify those as well so you can get more droop out of them.

If so, how do your blinkers fit so well?? And body lines lol.
(my blinkers always fall out and body lines dont match at all with the hood)

My .02, spend some time enjoying it, then spend some time valving the shocks and Bipasses for your driving style. I thought mine was GREAT, then I contacted King -Since I have Kings on mine - and told them what I was doing with it. They gave me a recommendation for my driving style. Basically doing 40-60 through washed out roads and not jumping it sky high and pancaking it. I have revalved them 6-8 times, I went way further than I thought, then the other way and narrowed it down till I feel I have it close to where I want it. Honestly, getting them valved was bigger difference than the first installed trip with the long travel. And they were "Suppose to be close", not even.
And its fun and easy to valve them.

How much did lotus axles run you ? I'm not sure you answered me this directly but will a stock tundra axle work as well? I'm guessing you did your bumper this way so if you jump your not going to hit the bottom on it. But it is possible to run a regular bumper right ?

Yeah, they're fiberwerx. But I did A L O T of fiberglass work to make them fit that well.

Yeah valving is the fun part. Ive been valving shocks for awhile. This should be a fun project. I dont think the valving is close in any shock off the shelf. There are too many variables.

I found 3 axles on race-dezert for $400. So i got a killer deal. You can run a stock tundra axle. You can run the stock bumper too. I only built the bumper like that because I like the way it looked. It does provide some more clearance. But most if all it looks cleaner.

Not sure about the rear yet. I was actually thinking of simplifying the rear end and run leafs. Then i can ditch all the links. At the very least I'll be adding bypasses to the rear.

I had Deaver build my rear leaf pack, since the rear weighs #3100 - flattened the first set, but now they are great!! and built a cantilever. Gen II....

That's really clean! I was wondering what others were running for leafs. I figure anything for a tacoma would be too light.

I've been tossing the idea around for a while now and haven't pulled the trigger yet since I haven't heard how well they keep the engine cool. Your bumper is almost exactly what I've been picturing in my head for a long time with the valence and low profile with the small radiator.

It seems to be okay. Just make sure you don't re-use your old radiator cap. They are different!! I re-used my old cap and it blew all the water out and got hot. Since I've installed the correct cap, it's been fine. 80 on the freeway AC cranked in 105 degrees. I also don't pull anything with my 4Runner, so I don't know how it would perform towing.
