i'm sure there's a way to design one yourself and make it compatible with a stock spindle. i have plans on making some, but just need the time and money... which won't come soon.
I talked to Solo yesterday...they are local to me. The guy on the phone couldn't tell why it wouldn't work. But he said with the lower uni ball, upper arm, and their spindle you could cycle 10in of travel without going wider. Meaning it stays stock track width. I think that is the way I am going to go. The stock spindle scares me...I am hard on s**t. lol

Yeah I know that. I will probably do that until I can afford the Solo spindle. I will call again next week and ask why the lower uniball won't work with the stock spindle.

I just thought I'd put in my input on the kits.
I personally have the Total Chaos kit and love it!!!
My truck is mainly a DD and I have never had one issue with the front end.
The uniballs on the uppers have held up really well. And actually the stock balljoints have worked fine so far. (but i definitely seen that it could be a weak point) (knock on wood) I also have the TC spindle gussets installed. They definitely put my mind at ease when it comes to catching a little air.
A buddy of mine has the camburg kit on his 2001 tacoma and loves it. His kit has also held up great to some heavy abuse. Both companys have high quality kits.
Before the long travel setup, I had a similar setup to the one mentioned before. It was also a great setup.
I personally prefer the LT setup cause I wanted more clearance/lift height in the front and a smoother ride. But you definitely can't go wrong with either long or mid travel setups.
You will for sure be happy either way you go! You just have to figure out what is in your budget.

The front diff is holding up fine, but thats cause I dont have one haha. Unfortunately my runner is 2wd. It still does plenty good in anything I throw at it. I occasionally get stuck in mud or deep sand, but thats more cause of the stupid traction control system rather than the 2wd.
No action pics but here are a few stills. Just had the new bumper built a couple weeks ago.

I would love a LT set up for mine. I just can't do it. Mine is my DD/mild trails/kid hualer. Besides, I am building a bad ass FJ 40 that will probably out run that runner in the dirt. Of course I will probably never get it finished. Lol. I have been looking at the Camburg kit. I just need to figure out what a set of shocks and whatever else is need to make it driveable and then see if I can justify the cost for it. Realistically, I am probably just going to go mid travel and be jealous of the long travel guys. Lol

LOL....at your front diff. Looks so good...I can't wait to get mine together, and on yours I think I like the glassworks fenders.

Guys, I just looked at a 3rd gen 4r this morning at ORW here in Temecula. The guy who owns it works for Total Chaos. He uses that 4r as a DD and as a chase vehicle for their race trucks. He has the dual coilovet set up on the front, UCAs, spindle gusset reinforcement, their adjustable rear link system, bump stops, the list goes on and on. After looking at their products up close... I'm sold. Better to spend a lil bit more money and get good quality parts.

Been running total chos parts on all my offroad rigs and have been nothing but happy with them, ran there LT kit on my tundra and the UCA setup on my tacoma. I will be installing their UCAs next week. The spindle gusset kit is more then strong enough to reinforce the skinny spindle itself and i have welded the uniball slug adaptor into the spindle itself for reinforcement.
