Total Choas Upper A-arm Uniball Upgrade

Having run uniball upper control arms in my Tacoma in the past the winter weather and mud caused them to be pounded out in no time in the northern climate. For that reason I stayed away from uniball control arms. Now in the future I might switch back to get more travel in my front end and help with alignment issues.

I was picking up some steering parts for my Tacoma build and my buddy showed me some uniballs he makes for the Total Chaos arms that will eliminate the problems with running these arms in wet/snow/salty/muddy environments. So if you've worn out a set of regular uniballs or are thinking of using a set of Total Chaos upper control arms but are hesitant due to the environment you'll be running them in check these out. They are greaseable and rebuildable.

Yeah, they really are, I haven't found anything that compares. And he will even take on occasion building custom parts. Really top shelf stuff for sure.

So how much longer would these have over the standard uniballs total chaos uses? And how often would you need to grease them or maintenance them?

Those are bad azz...they're still gonna get crap up under them, kinda hard to avoid that though.

I will get back to you with the builders answer. But having run a lot of his other products They will last a long time. And if they do get loose you just back out the set screw and tighten down the cap to tighten up the joint. When you run out of ability to tighten it up you just rebuild the joint. As far as grease intervals go that totally depends on the conditions on which you run your vehicle in.

Those are bad azz...they're still gonna get crap up under them, kinda hard to avoid that though.

They are working on getting a boot designed for these. But I know their hiems work fine in dirty conditions. Just grease them and that will push out the dirt.

I don't have anything to install them in. Still running stock upper control arms in my 4runner. Was just picking up parts for my SAC Tacoma and my buddy said check these out. So I did, I knew arms I used in my previous Tacoma build I had issues with the uniballs, and I wanted to share a product that I didn't know about that would really improve things for guys who are running uniballs in less than ideal conditions.

Doesnt TC run a standard 1"WSS uniball? If so these will also work in other brand uppers, since a lot of companies use the same size uniball.

That's what I was thinking. I wouldn't mind trying these in my dirtkings, but I'm not crazy about drilling a hole in to them per the directions. I'm sure its not a big deal, but still.

since I replaced my WSS uniballs and started using triflo superior lube and triflo dry lube in the winter, my upper uniballs have made it through 3 bad winters and they are in excellent shape. I think the big problems with uniballs start the moment people spray WD40 on them and destroy the teflon lining

So the best example he can give for an idea on how well these hold up is a truck that is daily driven in Canada, then driven to Mexico and races and then drove back home to Canada. Prior to installing the EMF uniballs the customer would replace the uniballs that came with the arms when he got to Mexico prior to the race, race and then replace them again for the drive home. All that was needed was after the race the joints had to be tightened slightly. Which is something you can do without pulling them out of the arms.

This is the biggest thing. Clean them properly and use proper lube. I used to use a wire brush (lmao) to clean mine, no wonder id replace them every winter in illinois. :bowl::bowl:
