Just got my tranny flushed for $131 out the door - this service is normally close to $200 or more. My 03 takes the Type IV fluid, and can be changed (has a dipstick, etc.). I also have a larger tranny cooler on it, and they didn't charge any extra. It was approaching 60,000 miles, and has done some pretty significant towing, so I thought it a good idea to get ready for this summer's towing.
The receipt says: "Replacement of virtually all of the used trans fluid with new and a conditioner additive while microfiltering out any impurities."
I wonder what the conditioner is about?
I got it by e-mailing 4 dealers in the Phoenix area. The managers are the ones that typically answer e-mails that come into the service dept. One (Camelback Toyota) was willing to give me the current special they have for other vehicles. I printed the e-mail as proof, so when I went in there were no questions asked. (Otherwise, the service writer said the price quoted was a mistake.)
