Touch of Class??

Good morning, I received a 2005 4-rnr. Sport Model for Xmas.

One of the many extra options it came with is something called "Touch of Class".
This claims that the truck will never have to be waxed during its lifetime, and if the exterior should fade or have any stains that cannot be removed, I simply bring it back to the dealer for refurbishment. The same guarantee is given for the interior of the car, which is supposed to be resilent to all types of stains and odors as well.

Does anyone have any experience with this?

Thank you~

In another words... a sealer or "paint protection".

Its great not needing to wax and still getting that shiny look. If you're someone that doesn't want to be bothered with polishing and waxing.. then sure.. the paint protection is great.

If you're like me and likes to polish/wax/wash my own t4r, then it'll be wasted money at the dealership. So it all depends on how much time you want to spend on maintaining the look on your vehicle.

By the way... CONGRATS on your new t4r. :D

Thank you for the speedy reply & congrats..

The person who gave me the new truck had this applied at the dealership, so the truck came with it.
I suspect this choice was made because of all the time/$$$ I have spent over the years having my trucks hand waxed. I am a real fanatic about keeping my vehicles showroom clean.

I was curious about what it is, and if it will really work, and you have anwered my questions~

Thanks again...

This is a fancy name for the same liquid wax that is applied at a car wash.
It is a profit item(several hundred dollars) for the dealership.

The product is all hype and has been around for many years under many names.

What they do is sell you a over priced wax job using cheap wax(another profit item).

You can achieve better results with a quality product (Zaino, Mothers or etc.).

The secret is to keep your T4R clean and regularly wax it. If you don't have time
get a professional detail shop to do the work.

There is nothing that has ever been invented that will keep the paint on any vehicle from needed to be properly maintained.

I remember when new cars started getting clear-coat paint jobs from the factory and the dealers were selling them as never needing wax because of the clear top coat.

We all know that's a lie, don't we?

Regardless of the "Touch of class", you should still protect the finish of your 4Runner, especially if you're fanatical about it...
