Welcome to the forum! A little piece of advice would be not to buy tires based off of looks. Another wonderful piece is the search function. Right above the thread there is a search bar. With using that function you will Find plenty of pictures, along with personal reviews / opinions on all kinds of tires.

This. As a city dweller, you wouldant walk around in steel towed logger boots all the time would you? Same goes for your truck.
Get tires that suit your driving needs.
That being said, the ProComp extreme mud terrain is a pretty aggressive tire can can last 40-50k miles and has pretty descent road manners.....

What they said. I don't understand the point in spending so much money making your rig look tough if you're not actually going to use that toughness. Why is being something you're not so important to you that you'll put on a expensive heavy tire that will hurt street performance?
Forget the tires, man. Be who you are. If who you are is an offroader, then get offroad tires. If who you are is a guy that drives his 4runner to school and the beach, then get some good all-weathers and enjoy the money you saved.

Yeah, man. Don't be a poseur like many with 2WD SUV's with macho-looking tires that never see dirt. I only drive Ruby Tuesday to trailheads so I'm keeping tires she came with, but will replace with all-weather, more aggressive tires (to better handle muddy roads) when they wear out.

Toyo MT's are popular here on the west coast. They are smooth on the road, look pretty mean and rate high for off road purposes.
I run Kumho Road Venture MT's. Its all about taste. I dont think you are going to find any all terrains that look "tough" though.

Image is the farthest thing from my mind. Almost every decision I make is based on function over form including my buzz haircut. With that said sometimes you can be a winner and get both function and form from the same product. I am currently running Cooper AT3 tires. They are a versatile AT tire and they look pretty good to boot. I drive most miles on interstate with some offroad for work and getting to trailheads. Don't be a poser just be yourself (thats what Kid would say in his Dr. Phil's voice lol)

Check out Goodyear Duratracs. Great on road manners and a tough looking all terrain. Also BFG AT's are classics. Mickey Thompson ATZ, Hankook Dynapro ATM, and General Grabber AT2's are great choices as well.

I'll probably go with Cooper Discoverer AT3s.

4 Not very expensive (not the cheapest) sort of in the middle cost wise.
5. Look good - AT tire so for those 5-10% of the times when you would like an AT tire you have it.

I just picked up some duratracs last week and they definitely look a bit meaner than most AT tires I was looking at. Not the cheapest option though.

Hankook Dynapro ATMs are great all around ATs and meet your desire for the "tough" look. There was a set on my recently acquired 'Runner but I replaced them because I wanted stouter sidewalls to cruise the Rockies. Putting them on CLs now. Here's a photo of the Hankook.
