Tow/winch points on 3rd gens?

I plan on getting a 3rd gen 4runner within a month but among other things was wondering, are there already places to hook up a tow cable or winch line on the 4runner. A buddy of mine and i went mudding the other night and found ourselves stuck in a swamp, only to realize that he didnt have any place to hook up the tow line.... see the photo.

Also, is a simple come-along (hand winch) going to work for most situations or should i look into a real winch if i will be doing some mudding? Thanks

Yes, the 3rd gen 4runner has a tow hook in front and rear. For me, i use my hitch as the rear tow point (which is better because it spreads out the force on the frame). The front underside bumper has a tow hook.

So, try and find a 4runner with a hitch OR get one installed...it's worth it.

With regard to the Jeep in the pic, i am sure that it has a tow hook (or loop) on the underside of the rear bumper...i think that it is on the passenger side.
