Flush the cooling system and use a good coolant like Chevron Delo ELC.

Not really the right place to discuss the PSD, but that ELC recommendation depends on the year the engine is. ELC is not recommended with the '94-97 engines because they have brass injector cups. The '99-03 have stainless injector cups.

Just checked out your build thread for details on the mini truck.

I change my vote: ditch the propane and convert back to a 22RE gasser (or if you have an originally carbed motor, convert to FI--the carbed 22-series just blows gonads) and just get plates for the mini truck. Way less money down the tubes, you can keep your 4runner and you don't have to daily-drive a huge gas-hog or buy a trailer and leave it in the driveway. Win!

The tundra comes with a 2uz, BTW, not a 1uz. And the 4.7 is no tow beast.

Good call. International made several revisions to the later T444E, before they recommended an ELC. Earlier versions they recommend a conventional coolant, with the appropriate additives.

Then again, failed injector cups are common enough that kits to replace them are available.

Honestly, for a Diesel of that era I'd choose a Dodge W/Cummins 5.9, with a manual trans. Of course there can be issues with those trucks too, depending on year.
