Towing Electrical Bracket: What would YOU do?

It looks like the "L" bracket the towing electrical bracket is secured to has ben taking it on the chin from mother nature! Take a look:

I plan on replacing it, but the questiong is "how?".

Option #1: Replace the entire setup, as Toyota does NOT offer just the L-bracket....they only offer it in the package with all towing hardware.

Option #2: Remove the old one, go to my work's metal shop and make a new one.

What would YOU do?

Good old New England... I would either make a new one or take the old one off, strip it, and repaint it.

Unfortunately, mine looks the same, so I'll probably be doing this soon as well, along with stripping and coating the rest of the undercarriage/frame.

I'd either pull it, straighten it, clean it up/paint and put it back on, or head to the wreckers.

Wow, maybe stating the obvious but you guys get a lot of salt there?

Strip it down to bare metal ( if there is any left ) and coat it with POR 15. Or find some stainless steel and fab a new one.

I just removed mine from an 08 when I installed a trailer hitch this weekend, and the hitch relocated the harness from the frame. Not sure if it could be repourposed for your use. Since yours looks like its on a stock hitch, the holes may be different. If you want to let me know the dimensions of the mounting holes, I'll measure mine out, and only charge ya shipping costs if you want it. - But be warned, a holiday weekend will yield only slow responses from me.
