Towing/Interior Room

I just wanted to see what your opinions are on towing trailers with 3rd gen T4R. Are these truck good for towing? I've heard almost any car can tow, but only some have the suspension and drivetrain to support it. Hows the T4R?

Also, how does the cargo room in the back (with the seats down) compare to most SUV's in its class? I need a lot of cargo room. When the seats are up, is there a good amount of room for high school/college sized people?

Thanks!

I haven't towed much, but to give you an example of how much can fit in the back, on a recent camping trip I took:

Full size tent for 6-8 people
4 full bags of clothes (large duffle bags)
3 large coolers
4 lacrosse sticks
4 lawn chairs
2 10x15' tarps
4 full backpacks

and four people (myself included). Basically will easily take 4 people and a week's worth of camping gear. Nothing had to be put in the passenger area, and there is a decent amount of room in the back seat provided the front passengers don't tilt their seats down much

I think the 4runners are rated at 5,000 lbs, but I wouldn't tow that much. Compared to other SUV's it's not that great, but compared to ones in it's class I think it's pretty good.

Cargo room is pretty good as KellyJ stated.

Of course there are five seats, but unless you have three small people to sit in the back or maybe a girl in the mix, I wouldn't put that many people in the back comfortably.

i have a REESE hitch. im pretty sure theyre rated at 3000 lbs.

Is that factory installed? I've read on the internet that it is 5.000, although like I said I wouldn't tow that much.

Is yours a v6 or 4 cylinder?
