Towing V6 vs V8 trans cooler ?

Question:

I realize the stock hitch set ups are different in the V6 and V8.

Do the V8s come with a trans cooler ? And how important is that feature ?

What about the V6 ?

I'm not sure I even need to be concerned as I'm only towing a 500lb 17' fishing boat short distances ( 6-10 miles one way and back) up to 2 or 3 times a week.

I just don't want to choose an under powered vehicle as the price difference from V6 to V8 is not that dramatic.

Any input would be appreciated as I am closing in on getting a 4runner.

If all you are gonna tow is a 500 lbs you can tow that with just about anything... the V6 will pull that no problem.. If you are gonna tow 5000 lbs plus.. then go 8v..

The 6v doesn't have a tranny cooler..

I figured that but I was thinking getting the V8 might not be a bad upgrade considering the price difference is just not that much. To get the real price difference between a V6 and V8 you have to add the standard tow package on the V6 as an additional charge, on the V8 a tow package is included as are power seats and Full time 4wd. That said, the V8s are hard to come by on the dealer lots I've checked......

I went with the 6v because I drive ALOT.. and wanted 2wd for everyday.. it is really up to you.. If they had 2wd/4wd switch in the 8v.. I would have gotten it.. The price is really not an issue.. But if you think you want the v8.. get it. Don't settle!!
