Towing with a 2006 4 Runner V8

Hello,
I would like to know what you all tow. Currently I have a 2004 GMC Sierra crew cab 5.3L and tow a 19' bass boat. I have owned several Tacoma's in the past. 1996, 1999, 2002 with the TRD supercharger. The reason I went with the GMC is because of the towing capabilities. I miss my Tacoma's! Anyways, I am considering purchasing the 2006 4 Runner Limited V8. Most of the reviews say the V8 has adequate power for towing. Your opinion?

The v8 will have no problems with this! It will probably tow as good as your sierra but the transmission will last longer. I have towed a 19' bass boat and had no problems other than burning a lot of gas!
 
I tow a 5200# travel trailer (21') with no issues except for the tongue weight. I put air bags in the rear springs and I am very happy with the quality of the ride and power provided.

I don't think I'll push the 7000# plus rating, but this thing will tow your boat no problem.

BTW...I have an '05 V8 Sport Edition.
 
My 2004 V8 4Runner tows my 5,400 lb, 20'x8.5' enclosed car trailer easily. I use a weight distributing hitch with sway control which helps keep the trailer nice and stable even in a heavy cross wind. You should have no trouble at all towing your bass boat.

The 4Runner has great power and should be able to pull easily as well as the 5.3L GM.

Where and what kind of air bags did you install, and how do you like them?
 
Read your owner's manuals and make sure you have a sufficient amount of miles on the truck and that it is fully broken in before any major towing.
